Description
Vimal enacts a different role in Vaagai Sooda Vaa. He perfectly fits to the role of an innocent teacher. Student teacher relation is well captured and interesting to watch. Iniya also played her part very well and there by complementing each other. The movie, which is set in the 1960s, Veluthambi (Vimal) is an unwilling teacher sent to educate children in a remote village, Kandeduthankadu. His only aim is to serve there for six months so that he gets a certificate, which will help him land a government teacher's job. The villagers are not interested in sending their children to his school as that would deprive them of extra hands to work in brick kilns, which helps them keep the home fires burning. He slowly brings about a change in their attitude and learns some important lessons about life on the way. But by the time the villagers learn about the importance of education, his government job comes through. Velu is now forced to decide what he wants to do with his life.
